Forefront Ministries in Benton Harbor was born in the summer of 2011. The ministry was led by Vernon “Tokyo” Guidry and Al Folkert. There have been some changes that have formulated, as Al has decided to step down due to unfortunate circumstances that occurred. Forefront began as a house church movement and is expanding to include Sunday celebration services. Tokyo is a lifetime resident of Benton Harbor and Al is a Zeeland native.

Steven Wells has been hired to replace Al as the pastor of the Forefront ministries. Steven is a recent graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois and received his masters of divinity in the spring of 2020. He is a resident of Flint but feels called to the streets of Benton Harbor. He desires to bring his youthfulness, education, and passion to bring about lasting kingdom communities.
